NERA Clarifies Position regarding February 29th

In response to a large number of queries to its Information Services NERA has clarified some of the issues regarding the 29th February. The key points of clarification are as follows:

There are no special arrangements for February the 29th.

• Those paid, for example, by the hour or by the week, will be paid for Feb 29th if it is a day on which they work - as with any other day.
• For those who receive an annual salary divided into 12 or 24 instalments, it is no different to there being say, 30 days in September and 31 in October.
• Annual salaries are generally offered on the basis of set financial package in exchange for specific services, and are not calculated on the number of days worked in a year.
